People stay when building something important, not just protecting what may be broken. It’s about purpose. If your team has no say in shaping a safety culture, don’t be surprised when they find a company that they give them. They want agents, not just directions. ”
Although burnout is often seen as the driving force behind job dissatisfaction, De Silva disagrees.
“The problem is not burnout. It’s a bottleneck under CISO. The risk at the middle level does not allow leadership. If the only forward is greater pressure without growing pressure, they will leave,” De Silva said. “Put your best performer into the cloud, fraud or action. It marks trust, build range and maintain range. Boredom is a greater risk of flying than burnout.”
