Bidding for animation history and rarity to raise funds for LA Wildfire Relief

The animation industry has partnered with Asifa-Hollywood to launch Animaid, and Sotheby’s fundraising auction will raise funds for people in the industry affected by La Wildfires. Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures Animation, Dreamworks Animation, Laika and many more large studios have donated a range of rare and unique animated artworks for bidding by interested parties.

The online auction will open this week, with artists and professionals hoping to help in the animation industry facing displacement or loss of their homes as the city of Los Angeles continues to come together and rebuild. Animation producer Don Hahn (Beauty and the Beast, Howard) Speech on behalf of the reasons on Instagram:

“The animation community has been hit hard by the Los Angeles fires. Now, the animation community benefits an organization called Animaid by donating art, priceless art, a very special auction to Sotheby’s, and the profits will be attributed entirely to the victims of La Fires.”

Over 90 years of incredible art drew curation from film and television, including Snow White, the Simpsons, the Inside Out, Spider-Man: Entering Spider, Wild Robot, Beauty and Beast, Avatar, and other beloved titles.

“Every bid makes a difference and helps people rebuild their homes and lives,” Hahn continued.

Bidding for the exhibition is now underway, and here are some works to be auctioned. The project also includes the film industry artists committee, tours from animation studios, signature posters and more, as well as original production drawings and animation units.
