New U.S. automaker Slate has launched a customizable electric truck that costs only $20,000 after applying for a federal electric vehicle tax credit. The stripped two-seater features manual scrolling windows, no screen and 150 miles of range.
“The definition of something affordable is broken,” Slitter CEO Chris Barman said in a press release. “Slate exists to restore power to the hands of customers who are ignored by the automotive industry. Slate is an aggressive truck platform that can be customized so that it can be converted from a 2-seat pickup to a 5-seat SUV.”

Slate is relying heavily on customization options for electric vehicles.
