Bitcoin Conference aims to pay for Bitcoin Guinness World Records

Bitcoin Magazine and Bitcoin Conference parent company BTC Inc conducted the ultimate test of Bitcoin at this year’s Bitcoin 2025 conference and officially tried to break the point-of-sale title of the Guinness World Records® point-of-sale in 8 hours. The attempt will be held from May 27 to 29, 2025 at the Venice Convention Center in Las Vegas.

To achieve this, BTC Inc will issue 4,000 Lightning Bolt Cards to attendees. The cards use the Tap-to-to-to payment feature and feature four limited edition designs, each respecting the main figures in Bitcoin history and advocacy: Senators Cynthia Lummis, Michael Saylor, Satoshi Nakamoto and Jack Dorsey. Each attendee receives a randomly assigned design that makes the card functional and collectible.

“Bitcoin 2025 is an opportunity for the community to showcase the real-world functionality of Bitcoin as a medium of communication,” said Didier Lewis, chief financial officer of BTC Inc. “Bombing cards are a key part of this experience, providing attendees with an easy way to make the purchase of Bitcoin direct, without the need for Bitcoin.

To aid in transactions and user experience, the event will be activated on-site, including the official Bitcoin magazine store. Located at the conference entrance, the store will sell Bitcoin-themed merchandise, including hardware wallets, clothing, books and exclusive art. When paying in Bitcoin via Lightning Network, each item will be offered at a 21% discount, which is a nod to the 21 million coins of Bitcoin coins.

As the Lightning Network continues to expand and mature, this kind of record attempt is emerging, providing the kind of moments that make BTC available for daily spending, low-cost transactions. By delving lightning into the conference experience, Bitcoin 2025 will highlight the protocol’s growing potential in the real world.

With over 30,000 attendees, over 300 exhibitors and over 500 speakers, Bitcoin 2025 is not only the largest Bitcoin event of the year — it is also probably the most traded.
