Strategy to increase Bitcoin holdings to $58.5 billion, the latest $1.34 billion purchase

The strategy greatly expanded the position of Bitcoin by buying 13,390 BTC, which bought $1.34 billion for approximately $99,856 per coin for about $1.34 billion. The company announced a acquisition on X, revealing that the purchase was made between May 4 and May 11, marking one of its largest BTC purchases to date.

As of May 11, 2025, the company now holds a total of 568,840 BTC, with a total cost of approximately $39.41 billion, with an average cost basis of $69,287 per coin. 13,390 BTC was added in just one week, reflecting the strategy as a continued high-criminal approach to Bitcoin as its core treasury asset.

The latest purchase comes before the company updated before May 5, when the company disclosed about $180.3 million in 1,895 BTC acquisitions at 1.895 btc, with an average price of $95,167 per bitcoin. At that time, the strategy held 555,450 BTC, worth approximately $38.08 billion, with an average purchase price of $68,550.

In addition to increasing its stake, the strategic BTC production performance has also improved. On May 4, the company reported a year-to-date yield of 14.0%. Just one week later, the yield rose to 15.5% YTD. This shows that its investment performance has improved due to the successful implementation of its current strategy.

At the Bitcoin for Corporation for Corporation event last week in Strategic World 2025, Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor made a bold statement to tech companies to skip stock buybacks and start buying Bitcoin as its reserve asset.

“Microsoft is going to buy back,” Saylor said. “Buying Bitcoin is 10 times better than buying its own stock.” He cited performance data and believed that companies that adhere to traditional capital strategies occupy huge room for upside on the desktop. Microsoft stock has returned 18% per year over the past five years – impressive, but well behind Bitcoin’s annual earnings of 62%. “If the cost of capital is the S&P 500, or 14%, then Microsoft will perform better than 4%. Bitcoin will perform better than 48%,” Saylor stressed. “By the way, bonds fell 5%, not enough to reach 19%.

The company’s active accumulation and strong BTC speed have created a firm belief in Bitcoin’s long-term potential, rather than hedging, but the underlying assets of the company’s corporate treasury in the digital age.
