Airfly Pro Review: I will never fly again without it

My body refused to fall asleep on the plane, although not for lack of attempts. I stayed up late before the flight, booked red eyes, popped up melatonin, ordered a few glasses of red wine from the drink cart-but I sat there, awake in my economic seat.

I’ve been busy with on-board entertainment. I didn’t build it for the original flight, and that small seatback screen kept me sane for 30,000 feet. If I Can’t Violate Last Year’s Oscar Nominee or Locking on the Weird HBO Documentary For hours, I started to work a little harder on the security record of the 737 Max I was trapped inside. (I’m very interesting.)

Knowing this, my very smart and thoughtful husband presented me with twelve Southern Air Force professionals last Christmas. This favorite gadget is a $49.99 Bluetooth adapter that allows you to watch on-camera movies with my comfortable Bose headphones. It’s not a charming device, just a dongle with auxiliary cables – but this humble device gets some trouble off the flight. Indeed, a miracle.

I first used the Airfly Pro on a round trip between Chicago and London this spring, and without it, I would never fly again. Even better, it’s being sold.

Fly like a professional

Although today’s wireless headphones and earbuds are more popular than wired models, the airline industry has not yet adjusted accordingly. (United and Delta have added Bluetooth-enabled screens to Some On their plane, but I personally haven’t found one. ) So to watch movies and shows on the backrest screen, you still have to plug in the wired headphones with the old-fashioned 3.5mm audio jack.

Some airlines use free cheap wired buds for long-haul flights, but it sounds bad and doesn’t lick the noise cancellation. Airfly Pro exists to bridge the technology gap for a better in-flight entertainment experience.

The top story of chaos

Setting up Airfly Pro is very simple:

If you travel with someone, you can even use Both The same time the headphones. My Airfly Pro paired with my Bose headphones immediately and remembered them in my return flight.

The audio from the Airfly Pro sounds good, and I never had any contact issues. I did notice that the onboard announcements are a split delay compared to the aircraft’s PA system, but the sounds and dialogues of the movie are always arranged perfectly.

South Twelve got the Airfly Pro after 25 hours of battery life, which seems to be accurate. The mine lasted a full eight hours of flight from Chicago to London, except for a few hours (because I forgot to turn it off), and then most of the time was in my nine-hour return flight. When it finally dies, a 10-minute charge makes the battery sufficient for at least 30 minutes, and then we land.

What are the biggest drawbacks of Airfly Pro? You can’t use it while you charge, which is expensive for a Bluetooth transmitter. That said, it works like a charm and feels like a future purchase, as the plane may not get rid of the 3.5mm audio jack very soon.

The $54.99 Airfly Pro (currently sold for $44.99) comes with a soft bag and keychain cap, plus its charger. For $20 less, you can pick up the Airfly SE, but you’ll lose some battery life and dual listening mode.

I’ve sold air fly lines at the airport before, but I recommend you snap up one before your next trip as my professional models are easy to find in sales. At the time of writing, Amazon sells it. You can also find them as part of some Bose Quietcomfort Ultra headphones and earbuds bundles.
