CISO urges to push suppliers to prepare for post-quantitative cryptography

A quantum computer powerful enough will be able to undermine the current asymmetric encryption and security protection for financial transactions, sensitive data and secure communications. Even before a sufficiently powerful quantum computer arrives (sometimes described as a Q-Day event), opponents can now harvest and decrypt later.
Prepare for Q-Day
The Infosecurity Europe team agreed that organizations, especially those that deal with long-term secrets, and sectors such as finance, critical infrastructure, health care and telecommunications are at the greatest risk.
Karl Holmqvist, founder and CEO of Lastwall, a provider of quantum elastic cybersecurity products, told delegates that in the face of growing threats, businesses are no longer announcing Q-Day, and businesses now need to take action.
