The goal of the NFT project with the doomsday theme is to sell 100,000 virtual tokens to buy Cold War nuclear bunkers in England. An innovative joint venture combines virtual ownership with physical real estate, which could be a new trend in the blockchain community.

Projects are hosted on April 21 for $14 in sales

Dead Bruv, the creator of the NFT series, called Meatbags, announced that they will mint 100,000 tokens starting April 21. According to a post on the Meatbags social media account, the price will start at $14. Current meat bag holders will receive 10,000 of these tokens through airdrops, while the remaining 90,000 can be purchased publicly.

Historic Cold War Building pays for £650,000

The nuclear bunker considered for sale covers 1.4 acres and is adjacent to an old reservoir in Rutland, England. SDL Property Ahuctions auctioned the property for a guide price of £650,000 (about $862,257) and organized the sale on April 24.

Built in 1960, the bunker is a Cold War surveillance post and was discontinued in 1968. It is one of 1,500 buildings responsible for reporting nuclear outbreaks and monitoring radioactive consequences. The auction list states that the building already has the necessary permissions to convert it into a house.

As of today, the market cap of cryptocurrencies stood at $2.72 trillion. Chart: TradingView

Token holders will become members of a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) “Billionaire bunker club” and if the NFT project is successful, the group will decide how to utilize bunkers. The group calls itself a “completely decentralized, real-life asset of community states Onchain.”

NFT Project: A Serious Joke

Robert, the pseudonymous founder of Dead Bruv, detailed how the project started in an April 18 announcement, a joke that turned into a serious cause to make “NFTS fun again.”

Caviar and Music Exclusive Members

If Bunker Buy succeeds, the Meatbags community proposes many possible uses, including a member-only “survival resort with a doomsday DJ” or Airbnb with a “caviar tasting and canned bean room service”.
