Grindr’s latest update is crazy
While most dating apps keep laughing at new features, Grindr is busy. I guess yes After all, the season of renewal and growth.
Over the past two months, the app has abandoned the load of new features (puns) and hosted a cheeky “cum calculator” on its blog. But besides being fancy, some updates actually make the app safer and more user-friendly.
The CEO said Grindr is testing the AI ”Wingman” robot.
Here is a summary of new things on Grindr.
Dodge catfish and use Grindr
“To Grindr” adds timestamps to new in-app photos for extra authenticity.

To make applications safer and more trustworthy, Grindr launched a new app camera feature called “Take on Grindr” on April 7. It allows users to take photos directly through the app. After that, you have the option to add a watermark that displays the timestamp (e.g. “Take it away on Grindr – Just done on Grindr”).

This helps to give others more confidence that the photos are real and may alleviate any concerns you have about catfish or outdated profile photos. If you don’t want to, you don’t have to add a watermark.
To use this feature, you need to make sure your app has been updated to the latest version. Turn on the in-app camera (in the chat machine or your profile editing screen), take pictures, and enable or disable watermarks as needed.
Once done, you can send the photo directly to one of the people in the chat or add it to your profile.
Find a connection Even faster With Grindr’s “Immediate” feature
On March 25 (Grindr’s 16th birthday), Grindr expands its “Immediate” feature to 15 new cities around the world: New York City, Los Angeles, London, Miami, Philadelphia, Austin, Chicago, Houston, Houston, Atlanta, Orlando, Orlando, Paris, Paris, Madrid, Madrid, Amsterdam, Sao Paulo and Milan and Milan and Milan and Milan and Milan and Milan. “Now” was originally launched in Australia and Washington, D.C. in 2024.
If you are not familiar with it, “now” allows people to see who is online, making it easier to match and meet as soon as possible. It is suitable for users who don’t want to spend time chatting and prefer to hook up as soon as possible, or what is now implied: Now.

“Unlike traditional grids designed to browse profiles and start conversations,” Grindr’s chief product officer AJ Balance told Mashable. “There is now a live feed where users can post text updates and photos to send out exactly what they wanted at the time,” Grindr’s chief product officer AJ Balance told Mashable. “Fast, clear and direct contact with people who want the same thing.”
To use this feature, all you have to do is open the app and click the “Immediate” button. You can then browse or post in the feed, respond to other people’s posts, and find people who meet with others.
If your city is not included in the update, don’t worry. Balance said this is just the beginning and more cities will be added in the coming months.
“Currently, we are part of our larger vision, even if Grindr is the preferred space for every LGBTQ+ connection, both for casual and long-term,” he said. “We are committed to making these connections faster and more intuitive while continuing to grow with users.”
Hide in Exes and others you want to avoid using “profile hiding”
Want to avoid seeing your colleagues or Ex on Grindr? The Profile Hide feature allows you to make their profiles (and your profiles) disappear from each other’s grid.

If you are worried about meeting an ex, co-worker, or even just a family member, Grindr’s new “profile hide” feature may come in handy.
Posted on March 31, “Profile hide” makes it invisible to you by specific people on the app, so they can’t find your profile or send you a message. When your profile is hidden, you will disappear from their grid, and their grid disappears from your grid. (You will also disappear from their Look Me and the Faucet.) They will not receive notifications or any other signs to let them know you are hiding from them.

It’s not like blocking, it’s more permanent. It’s just a way to temporarily hide someone you know (and hopefully avoid).
To use this feature, go to the profile of the person you want to hide. (It must be someone you don’t have a chat.) Click on the “Hide” icon at the top of their profile photo and confirm your decision.
If you change your mind, you can go to settings at any time and let your profile go at any time.
Yes, Grindr hosts an interactive “cum calculator” on their blog
If you think Grindr might get trickier, think about it again. This week, the company hosted the “world’s first interactive cum calculator” which sounds like that. Think of myfitnesspal, but cum.
The calculator is easy to use. Just insert some details (it can be measured with a “load”) and it will give you nutritional breakdowns including calories, protein, sugar, fat and even zinc. Of course, these numbers are just estimates.
The company said the cum calculator is designed to be a way to attract users and promote sexual health awareness. Honestly, it’s a cute way to get people to talk about their health and status (their app rival Archer has been leaning towards it for years).
We will see what Grindr has to offer in the spring and the pride of this year.
