I tried a $2,600 robot vacuum cleaner and it’s ridiculous

Maybe you heard that Roborock performed a robot vacuum with his arm when he announced the Saros Z70 at CES in January 2025. When you find something like this exists, maybe you have very few. Either way, there will be a consistent question: Is it possible that a robot’s vacuum can grab the arm of a barrier?
The price tag further obscures the practicality issue here: The Roborock Saros Z70 costs $2,599. That’s $1,000 more than the other two flagship Saros robot vacuums released this year. Even if you capture the Saros Z70 for a sale price of $1,999, it’s still very steep compared to other markets.
So for my Saros Z70 video review, I tested the device in the apartment for a month. I tried to pick up socks, sandals and some other common obstacles with my claw-style arms and compared the cleaning skills of the Saros Z70 with the Roborock Saros 10 and 10R vacuum cleaners. That’s it.
