Lomond School and Saifedean Ammous in Scotland launch new Bitcoin Scholarship Program

In a bold new step that blends education and bitcoin innovation, Lomond School announced the launch of the Satoshi Scholarship, a first-hand Bitcoin-driven scholarship initiative, according to a press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine. The announcement establishes a strategic partnership with renowned economist Dr. Saifedean Ammous to develop Austrian economics courses for students.

Independent colleagues Day and boarding school, already known as the world’s first school to accept Bitcoin for tuition, now offers 21 two-year boarding scholarships and 21 two-year scholarships – covering the school’s prestigious International Bachelor’s Degree (IB) program. Each scholarship is designed to give students passion for economics, innovation, and critical thinking, regardless of their background.

“The response from the Bitcoin community has been amazing since the announcement of acceptance of Bitcoin,” said Claire Chisholm, principal of Lomond School. After Dr. Ammous supports the introduction of our courses and scholarship program, I invite committed supporters to join our benefactors and help shape the next generation of economic thinkers.”

In addition to scholarships, the school has partnered with Dr. Ammous to open new economics courses Bitcoin Standard. The initiative will emphasize the ethics of Austrian economics, reasonable money and financial freedom.

“The future of freedom and prosperity depends on the next generation understanding of reasonable economics,” Dr. Ammous said. “Through this partnership, our goal is to plant seeds of long-term thinking and financial literacy early in life. I’m excited to work with the Lomond School on this exciting project.”

The course will complement Lomond’s already progressive learning model with hands-on Bitcoin integration. Students will explore decentralized financial principles, interact with the Bitcoin mining hardware donated to the school, and gain a practical understanding of the currency system outside the traditional classroom.

Lomond School said it is actively seeking 43 founding donors, one of each scholarship and flagship sponsor program.
