Memorial Day weekend marks the informal start of summer and the official start of the season of “tracking the outside interior”. Enter a washable carpet, which is a lower maintenance alternative to average wool, shag or jute count. (They are easily cleaned by spots and can be safely thrown in the laundry.)

Mashable tested two big guys on a washable carpet – rug feet and tumbling – and found both of their products durable, soft and affordable. Conveniently, both brands also happen to be operating Memorial Day sales this week.

It’s worth mentioning that Ruggable rugs can also be purchased through Amazon, but the retail giants gave fewer discounts and were less discounted when I last checked. For example, this 3 x 5 Impasto Slate blue rug (usually $139) is priced at $111.20, and on Memday’s Ruggable website, it costs $126.65 on Amazon.
