Meta AI warns that your chatbot conversations may be public. This is the way to get them private.

However, it seems that some Meta AI users are not aware that their chatbot conversations can be published for viewing around the world.

Meta AI has now added a new warning to users that their prompt is public. First reported by business insidersThis message pops up when you click the “Share” button in one of your interactions with Meta AI. The To Feed button will then appear at the bottom of the screen, below the warning reading, “The prompt you posted is public and visible. Meta may suggest your prompts on other Meta applications. Avoid sharing personal or sensitive information.”

Business Insider reports that Meta AI users have been having to hit those “share” and “post for Feed” buttons to post their conversations to discovery feeds. However, judging from the information that appears there, it seems that many users may not understand what this means. The new pop-up appears to be targeting clearer targets. As of Monday, Meta AI’s discovery feed is now dominated by AI-generated images and occasional universal text prompts for multi-mono accounts.

Fortunately, users can also opt out of the unsuspecting and unintentional over-sharing feed in the native AI settings for some extra security. Even so, it’s better to be aware of what you tell Meta AI and any other AI Chatbot you decide to use.

How to maintain meta AI chat

In addition to staying away from Meta AI’s “Share” button, you can further protect your tips by tweaking the app’s privacy settings. This is the way to keep meta-AI conversations confidential.

Step 1: Open the Meta AI application.

Step 2: Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Click “Data and Privacy”.

Step 4: Click “Manage Your Information”.

Step 5: Click “Make all public prompts see only all your prompts”.

Also, if you no longer want to record your own metaAI conversations and want to wipe them, select “Delete all prompts”.

Step 6: Click “Apply to All”.

After you have done this, you may also want to prevent Meta from sharing your tips on Instagram and Facebook. You can do this through separate settings in the Meta AI app.

Step 1: Open the Meta AI application.

Step 2: Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner.

Step 5: Switch Instagram and Facebook.

Switching in Meta AI app, dislike prompts will be shared on Facebook and Instagram.
