Parenting in a changing world

Parenting is hard work. The philosophical voice we explore in this book is even more difficult. In these pages, you will find practical tools that can make a significant impact on your child if implemented. These are not abstract theories or unqualified opinions. That’s what my wife, Danielle and I have been practicing and over the past 16 years we have built the foundation for the entire parenting strategy.
Everyone’s experience is dynamic. Not all children are the same, there are only too many nuances that can be packaged into a book. At the end of the day, you have to do your best when trying these suggestions. Each strategy you decide to try in your own home requires your unique situation and positive identification.
I also want to encourage you to challenge these ideas, oppose competitive parental strategies, and question the logic behind the suggestions in this book. Of course we did it! You won’t read a book, and you won’t figure it out. That said, if this is your only book, I want to make sure you handle every word I’m trying to put into these pages with the same level of care, even if it’s just because parenting isn’t for the faint of heart.
For the next generation, we have a responsibility to pursue hope – after all, we have children to raise. Although we find ourselves facing challenges in raising children in this brave new world, there are plenty of opportunities if we are willing to look for it. Learning to accept this simple truth will enable you to rise and begin to predict the dynamics of our evolving landscape while facing each new challenge more effectively.
You have children. You are the parents; they are the children. No one else will be the parent that your child really needs. Responsibilities worth mentioning every day.
