That exterior wall draws on the fun of performance Big Lies and White lotus: Great actor – Julian Moore! Meghann Fahy! Millie Alcock! – Facing the backdrop of picturesque mansion and beach. Like those series, performance host Molly Smith Metzler (maid) also hopes to address the Sonier theme of class and trauma. However, these themes rarely get the depth they deserve and are brushed by random plots, if not otherwise, bringing soapy fun.

siren Start with the world’s most misleading edible arrangement. Fahy, who just made his mark from her second DUI, learns that his father (Bill Camp) suffers from early-onset dementia, calls on her absent sister Simone (Alcock) for help. Simone’s response? A basket of melons and berries, as well as a card telling Devon to “keep your chin”. Subpar’s gifts and empty clichés were enough to make Devon travel for hours, rotting the fruit, arrives Simone as an assistant to wealthy philanthropist Michaela “Kiki” Kell (Moore).
Simone not only manages employees who operate Michaela’s luxury cliff real estate. The working relationship between the two is profound and frankly creepy. They don’t have boundaries: Simone gives Michael Saxophone six six-separation to her husband Peter (Kevin Bacon). Two people share gum so they have fresh breaths.

But as a clumsy working-class intruder in Michaela’s wealthy world – on the most important, party-filled Labor Day weekend, no less than Devon, Devon is at a major disadvantage. As she tries to protect her sister, dark secrets about their past (and dark rumors about Michael) emerge, prompting a dramatic revelation spin that ultimately cannot bear the weight they should bear.

siren When it’s a dark comedy with a soapy flavor, it’s the best, most of which is attributed to the performances of Moore, Fach and Alcock. Moore and Alcock perfect, guided Stepford Wives Their soft condensation and creepyness in their little casual suits. Alcock’s Simone Simpers and her boss prepare in advance, while Moore is totally committed to Michaela’s icy cult leader atmosphere. (Michaela’s Bird Conservation Association is In fact Cult is one of the secrets siren Gift, even if the resolution is not particularly satisfactory. )
Meanwhile, Fachy’s Devon contrasts sharply with the behavior of the rich girls of Simone and Michael. She was primitive and unapologetic, and she called Michael’s savage ceremony without fear. This primitiveness also rubs on Simone when she is with Simone, highlighting the connection between their sisters and the pain the two share during traumatic growth.
Discussion on this trauma has led to some siren“The maximum tone fluctuations range from the sending range of superficial wealthy people (e.g., Glenn Howerton and Peter’s sleazeball neighbors) to clichéd mental health explorations, such as Simone’s panic attacks. Can it be predicted? siren“Examination of imbalanced predatory dynamics in relationships. Once Bacon’s Peter appears on the scene, it’s clear what will play between him, Michaela and Simone. The show sees this arc as ultimately in an apocalyptic plot twist, but feels more tired than anything.
siren Not without interesting ideas. In keeping with the theme of “Sirens”, at some point in the show’s five-episode run, all three women were seen as horrible, even though they were often at a disadvantage. (Devon and Simone, especially.) The mythological theme extends to a solid joke in which two Devon loser suitors follow her, as if seduced by the sirens, even though she bothers them. These comparisons between people siren“Being almost fabulous creatures with their actual, unrealized reality leads to the show’s most fascinating moments. But there are only five episodes. siren There is no way to explore as much of these contrasts as possible, and the song ends up falling.
