Eight years after its original launch, the Nintendo Switch 2 was finally released at midnight launches across the country. Meanwhile, gamers across the United States are checking retailers such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, GameStop and even Costco in search of next-generation gaming consoles.

While there are dozens of Switch 2 games and accessories available for purchase, gamers looking for the console itself have two options: get the base Switch 2 console for $449.99, or choose the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle for $499.99. Of course, both are in short supply, even if Nintendo predicts selling 20 million units in the next 12 months.
Mixable light speed
The first customer to get a Switch 2 console is the lucky player who makes reservations via GameStop or Best Buy. Both retailers have held midnight event launches across the country, giving people the opportunity to get reservations in person. Additionally, according to their website, these retailers will sell limited gaming console supplies on a first come first served basis. Mashable recently received the Switch 2 comment unit and we will share more first impressions soon.

However, even if Switch 2 is officially released, this does not mean that online inventory will be available immediately. Nintendo is only allowed to purchase for customers with active, paid switch online membership. Target previously announced that it will not start selling consoles online until Friday (June 6). But retailers like Best Buy and Walmart promise to sell the console online quickly at midnight.
When Preorders will officially go live on April 24, gamers quickly collapsed the retailer’s website, and history may repeat itself on launch day. But if you want to try luck when placing an online order, head to the retailer and start smashing the refresh button, just like you’re playing Super Smash Bros.
