“The first live trade cup for cryptocurrencies is just the beginning”: Interview with Whiteby Group Chairman

During the 2025 International Crypto Exchange Cup (ICTC), our staff spoke with Whitebit Ceo, Volodymyr Nosov and their CMO Alex Kozenko to see the event, origins, purpose and the value it provides to the Crypto community. That’s what they told us.

Paradigm shift: Is cryptocurrency trading the ultimate esports?
Interviewer: Thank you very much for taking the time to talk to us. We’re happy to hear more about Whitebit. First of all, can you tell us some early stages of the platform? How much has it increased since then, where have you seen it go next year?
Volodymyr Nosov: Thanks. First of all, it is important to note that Whitebit is just one of the many products in the larger Whitebit group. Our team specializes in blockchain development and today we manage 12 active projects. Now we have a team of over 1300 people, including over 240 internal developers.
All our products are built in-house. This is crucial to us. Many players in the industry rely on outsourcing development or white label solutions, which often lead to technological vulnerability. You keep hearing about hackers and data breaches, which is usually why. By comparison, we have never suffered a single hack or data breach during our seven years of operation. That’s something I’m really proud of.
Not just encryption. Yes, there are many communications and companies in the cryptocurrency space, but the truth is that about 98% of people are essentially just marketing shells – usually run by someone with a front-end and without an infrastructure. At Whitebit, our core focus has been on development. That’s why we continue to grow year by year.
As for the exchange itself, last year alone, White Pie Bit promoted more than $2.7 billion in trading volume in 2024 without a single technical problem. This tells you about the flexibility of the platform.
Interviewer: Can you talk more about Whitebit’s broader strategy and vision for the future?
Volodymyr Nosov: Our vision is to bridge traditional finance and crypto. We are developing the ability to replicate the functionality of the classic financial system but reimagine the functionality of the blockchain. The idea is that you will be able to do everything you need (from transactions to managing finances) in one integrated application.
We also make substantial investments in infrastructure that supports institutional clients and professional businessmen. In addition to encryption, our team has built blockchain-based solutions for traditional industries, namely banking, telecommunications and even esports. The products’ “under the hood of the Web2 company” make them seamlessly accessible to Web3 features.
Here is the reality: Big Web2 companies are not gone, but they lack the developers and experience to properly integrate blockchain. One day, they will realize that they need to encrypt their local infrastructure. When that moment comes, we will be prepared. Over the past four years, we have built systems that are easy to integrate into the existing stack.
Interviewer: Have you seen organizations adopt these solutions?
Volodymyr Nosov: Yes, it’s already happening – Quiept and stable. Now, these are hundreds of companies. In a year, there will be thousands of people. In three years, this will be millions. The waves are here.
Interviewer: Let’s talk about today’s event. What inspired White Pie Bit to host trade competitions?
Volodymyr Nosov: Good question. This is not our first event – we work with football clubs, esports organizations and other industry leaders. But we noticed that no one just organized something really meaningful for crypto traders.
Throughout 14-15 years of crypto history, no one has done so. So we decided to create something special for our community – celebrating that traders are professionals. This competition is our first step and we plan to hold the competition every year. It’s a learning experience and we’re collecting feedback, so the next feedback will be bigger and better.

Interviewer: I also noticed a strong educational component. Would you say this activity is designed to help people become better traders?
Volodymyr Nosov: Absolutely. It reminded me of the beginning of esports. I remember 15 years ago, I was sitting in a computer lab with my friends and playing counterattack. At that time, our family told us that it was a waste of time. Esports is a billion dollar industry these days.

We are trying to build the same infrastructure for transactions. Imagine you were sitting on a computer all day learning charts and your parents didn’t understand what you were doing. Now, suddenly, you are competing on the international stage. This changes the narrative. This activity legalizes transactions into a serious discipline, not just a hobby.
Interviewer: So it’s not just a deal, it’s about elevating the entire culture around it.
Volodymyr Nosov: Exactly. It’s not just the market. It’s about friendship, community and opportunity. Traders can meet each other, exchange ideas, and be inspired by others’ most important. We are building an ecosystem that goes far beyond the numbers on the screen.

Chat with Whitebit’s CMO, the origins of ICTC 2025, and learn about its future
In different conversations with multiple crypto news outlets including Cripto Noticias, Crypto Insiders and Bitcoinist, Whitebit’s CMO, Alex Kozenko,,,,, Talking about the idea of providing form for ICTC 2025 and how the team behind the event can achieve this, solving many challenges.
Alex Kozenko: (…) This is a highly complex project. We try to combine everything we have learned as a team and do things we have never done before: the world’s first Offline Crypto Trading Championship. I told my team that if we were to do something, then we had to Extraordinary– A true “first” moment.

Interviewer: So anyone, even beginners or fans, can compete with top traders?
Alex Kozenko: Exactly. That’s its magic. This is the first event that anyone can test their skills in real time against experienced professionals. In traditional esports, you can’t just show up and play with professionals. But in our game, everyone started with the same feed at the same time, and it was a level playing field.
Interviewer: This makes it more interactive and immersive than watching the game.
Alex Kozenko: Yes! Imagine if you are a fan of Football Club Barcelona and not watching ElClásico, you can Play In it. That is the emotional hook. Here, fans of the deal are not only going to watch—they participate. They test the best.
Interviewer: How are the community and influencers responding?
Alex Kozenko: At first it was mixed. Maybe 80-85% didn’t respond when we reached out. Some people don’t understand this concept. Others were skeptical. But those people Have done it “It’s a dream. That’s what we’ve been waiting for,” Gaing told us.
We’re completely transparent – no hidden tricks, no fake numbers. Some participants even told us: “If I didn’t win this, my followers wouldn’t buy my courses!” It adds pressure, but also makes it more realistic. Traders have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, strategies and styles in life on stage. For them, it was a dream situation.
Interviewer: It’s a bold way to turn a deal into an audience movement.
Alex Kozenko: This is. We designed it as a professional showcase, a place where traders can showcase their ideas, decisions, aggressiveness and experience. It’s about showing the world that transactions are not just numbers, but a craft.
Interviewer: Is this a difficult project to execute?
Alex Kozenko: extremely. Every week, we meet with 40-50 team members. Everything from partnerships to stage design – is carefully planned. An interesting example: We have to coordinate LE LID approval with La Liga for partial broadcasting. It usually takes two weeks; we have 12 days.
Our original site didn’t have enough power to power all the equipment. We have to move the entire activity to a new location and completely recalibrate everything. But it’s worth it. I told my team: “We’re launching rockets here.” Somehow, we did.
Interviewer: What is your most challenging part personally?
Alex Kozenko: people. The energy and motivation of managing a team is harder than anything else. We had to push the event from February to May, and the delay was tough. But now, seeing 99% of the ideas executed my imagination, it’s the most meaningful feeling. Even in some areas, it exceeded my expectations.
I am proud of our achievements. This activity is not just marketing, it is a sport. And, if this is just the beginning, I can’t wait to show you what’s next.
